Creative Connections is an immersive experience for inspiration, entertainment, education, and empowerment with a taste of creative exploration.
The initiative is an opportunity for locals and internationals in Eindhoven to connect with the city and each other by exploring creativity in its freest form: playful, meaningful, and social.

WhatTheFunk?!
WhatTheFunk?! is an up and coming six piece band formed by musicians from the Eindhoven Student jazz association: Studentproof Jazz. The band’s repertoire spans multiple genres. The musicians perform RnB/soul classics, such as “Smooth Operator” and “Use me,” as well more jazzy and funky songs, such as “I Wish”.

Geert Tiersma
Geert is an Eindhoven-based creative and cultural icon, performer, artist, touring musician, educator, community cultivator, and the creator of Pizza Night.
With nearly two decades of grassroots cultural work, Geert Tiersma—affectionately known as “Pizza Geert”—has transformed his Eindhoven-based creative haven into a living archive of experimentation, community, and sound. What began as a local gathering place now pulses as a hybrid space: part pizza salon, part instrument museum, and part workshop playground for radical imagination.
JANINE WETZEL
With nearly 30 years of expertise, Janine Wetzels and her Eindhoven-based Textiellab‑040 lab offer a rich, hands-on environment for participants to experiment with sustainable textile techniques—whether weaving, knitting, tufting, dyeing, or embroidery—with materials rescued from pre-loved and discarded sources.
Textiellab‑040’s is a co-creative space for textile resurrection and fashion art, where seasoned facilitators guide participants in using preloved textiles and sustainable materials as both canvas and toolkit for personal reinvention.

MDT Plus Eindhoven Program Launch
The DARE TO RE:PLAY program is created by Octophina and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports (VWS) and developed in collaboration with international experts in creative well-being, sustainable design, and community action.
It is free and open to all, but specifically designed to empower people aged 12–30 to gain practical life skills, explore their potential, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
This Eindhoven-based MDT summer program offers you the opportunity to grow personally and make meaningful social impact through cross-cultural and cross-generational interactions and collaborations.
JAMIE van Duuren
Jamie is a Design Academy graduate and workshop host, who teaches introduction to upcycling to children through coffee-based explorations and creations.
Her signature workshop From "Waste to Wonder" is an interactive, hands-on experience where children transform bio-waste, such as coffee grounds, potato starch, and casein, into compostable toys.
By engaging in this creative process, participants develop environmental awareness, circular thinking, and problem-solving skills, making sustainability tangible and fun.
