From Torture Chamber to Empowering Playground

Foodie Boulevard isn't a food blog. It is a rabbit hole to freedom that starts in the kitchen and takes you further than you expect.

For many of us, the kitchen is a torture chamber, cooking is an exhausting activity, and food is a stressful subject.

Foodie Boulevard is where you learn to engage with food in an enjoyable and empowering way, rather than a limiting and frustrating one.

Dare to Play with Food

I'm Sofia Yotova Octophina and I created Foodie Boulevard out of desperation. In 2015, after my decade-long battle with emotional eating became unbearable, I was ready for radical change. So, I did something unexpected: I dared to play with food and began to approach cooking like a child.

I wasn't wasteful, careless, or disrespectful. I just stepped into the kitchen with an open mind and curious hands.

I gradually transformed a traditionally technical activity into an enriching and stimulating creative practice with a delicious and nutritious outcome.

Food was the byproduct, but self-care was my main goal.

By adopting a creative mindset in the kitchen, I accidentally turned a daily necessity into a transformative ritual.

This shift changed my life and eventually inspired tens of thousands of people around the world. It also made me a workshop host, published author, TEDx speaker,  Forbes 30 Under 30 social entrepreneur, and certified Mind Body Eating coach

Years later, I applied that same mindset to making art and became a globally collected artist known as Octophina in less than a year with no technical drawing skills, proving that the technique was never about food—it was about empowerment.

Today Foodie Boulevard is a space where you can transform your relationship with food by using skills that a 10-year-old can master in an afternoon.

LEGO Cooking

An intuitive system that helps you use ingredients as building blocks.

You learn to create dishes with whatever is available, bypassing the stress of traditional instructions.

Once you understand the anatomy of a dish and its structural components, you can invent endless variations of it and put delicious and nutritious meals on your table in 30 minutes or less without ever looking up a recipe.

Edible Drawing

A mindfulness practice and dynamic meditation ritual where you use edible ingredients as creative supplies and make art you can eat as a way to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate.

Once your edible artwork is finished, you turn it into a meal you can enjoy on your own or with others and establish a meaningful relationship with food that nurtures both your body and your mind.

If you want to destress cooking, turn the kitchen into an empowering playground, and use food as a context for self-care beyond eating, you're in the right place.
